What I will never do…

I will never say “the c-word.” or I’ll also never say “f-bombs.”

I’m a journalist with nearly 20 years experience. So I will never publish third-party information that hasn’t first been fact-checked. I will not tolerate any misinformation and I will — to the best of my ability — never lie to you. That only ever happens when I’m lying to myself. And if I realize I’ve lied, or accidentally passed along untrue info, I’ll say so and own up to it.

I really miss my last job, which was writing short news items for the radio. I focused mainly on health, science and Fashion! Fashion! will always have an exclamation point after it because Fashion! is surprisingly interesting, fascinating and fabulous.

I have 4 kids, who I will refer to (until I come up with something better) E1, M, J and E2. I’m trying to respect their privacy, but I never promised them I wouldn’t tell embarrassing stories about them.

I have a husband to whom I’ve been married for more than 25 years. I will refer to him as Husband or My Honey but rarely “my hubby.” It just sounds silly to me.

We also have a dog whose name is Daisy and I will always call her a Very Good Girl.

My dad died almost three years ago. I have nothing but respect and love for the man who drove me absolutely insane. I will probably be talking about him a lot. In fact, I will probably be talking about most of my extended family at some point because they are all at least a little bit crazy and that’s the only way I stay sane sometimes.

I love reading books, but don’t make enough time to read them. I have an unhealthy addiction to Funko Pops! (TM) and a collection that reflects that. I also love science fiction, including The Expanse. Doctor Who, classic Star Trek and a small, little-heard of franchise called Star Wars. I will write about these things frequently. I will never make fun of people for the nerdy things they love.

That about covers it. But for emphasis, I will never say “the c-word.”

It’s cancer.

And I will never say “f-bomb.”

The word is fuck.

As in: Fuck cancer – JDBV
